HAM, CHEESE AND MUSHROOM PROTEIN PASTY
Discover a delightful, protein-packed pastry that’s perfect for any time of day! This Cheese, Ham, and Mushroom Protein Pastry is a savoury sensation, offering a creamy, cheesy filling with a hearty dose of protein.
Serves 2. 24g of protein per pastry.
200ml Semi skimmed milk
Eatlean Cheese Slices 2 slices
150g Chopped ham
20g Plain flour
320g Puff pastry
1tbsp Chopped parsley
1 Medium egg
Firstly, in one pan begin to make a thick white sauce. Add milk to a pan on medium heat, once simmering add the butter and flour. Whisk the paste for 3-4 minutes.
Lightly fry the mushrooms on a medium heat and allow to cool before adding the mushrooms, ham and white sauce into a mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly to ensure all the contents are covered in the white sauce.
Roll out the pastry and make two large circles (around 18cm wide). Half an Eatlean Cheese Slice and place both sides on top of each other on the pastry before adding the filling, folding over and sealing off the wedges well.
Brush the turnover with the whisked egg.
Heat oven to 200C/180C fan. Place the turnovers on a baking sheet and bake for 35 mins until puffed up and golden.
