LOW FAT PUFF PASTRY SPREADER STARS
If you are entertaining this festive season, it’s easy to wrack up the calories and fats before you’ve even started your main meal! We’ve created a festive canapé recipe that is low in calories, extremely low in fat and low in carbs, with a healthy little protein hit too!
These puff pastry stars are not only super macro friendly but they are really quick and easy to make, simply add a Spreader of your choice and serve up!
Each star contains just 63 kcal, 2g fat, 6g protein and 5g carbs…we’ve got your attention now!
So what have we switched up in this low calorie low fat snack…
Spreaders – Rather than make up a complex and high-fat filling, our Spreaders provide the perfect fillers for these puff pastry stars, with options to suit vegetarians too, simply pick your flavours and start filling!
Low Fat Puff Pastry- Let’s face it, puff pastry is never going to be macro-friendly, but opting for a lighter version helps you to shave some of the calories and fat content! Every little helps!
Low Fat Puff Pastry Sheet (5-10g pastry per star)
Eatlean Spreaders (Salmon, Chicken, Cheese & Chive)
Dill, chives, cucumber for dressing (optional)
Cut the pastry into stars
Make a smaller circle indent inside the stars (but don’t cut fully through)
Pop the stars onto a lined baking tray and wash with egg
Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until they have cooked through and browned
Fill the baskets with the Spreaders and top with dill, chives or cucumber (optional).
