LOW FAT MACARONI CHEESE BAKE
Colder nights, shorter days call for warming comfort food…and we’re here to show that those comfort recipes don’t have to ruin your macro goals. Macaroni Cheese is a firm favourite here at Eatlean, and our Spreadable & Shaker Protein Cheese combine perfectly to create a bake with all the flavour, whilst being low fat, high protein and low calorie too!
So what have we switched up…
Eatlean Spreadable – Our Spreadable #ProteinCheese works as a great replacement for a full fat cheese sauce, simply pop in the microwave for 1 min and you have a low fat, low calorie, high protein cheese sauce ready to go!
Eatlean Shaker – Our shakers pack a whole lot of flavour alongside a whole lot of protein! We love shaking these on top of the bake for that crispy, cheesy crust. You can even stir through the pasta too if you want it extra cheesy!
Bacon Medallions – Yep you heard us…you can still have your bacon! Just hunt down the bacon medallions or trim off the fat for a lower fat, lower calorie serving
1 Mac & Cheese
300g Eatlean Spreadable
200g Macaroni dried
x3 Bacon medallions (fat removed)
x10 Cherry tomatoes
1 Tsp Wholegrain mustard
1 Small slice Sourdough bread
20g Eatlean Shaker
Take 200g of Macaroni and boil for 8-9 minutes
Place Eatlean Spreadable into a microwave safe dish and microwave for 60 seconds to heat through
Add cherry tomatoes, the cooked bacon and mustard and stir through to mix well
Top the dish with crumbled bread (blitz the bread in a food processor, or crumble) fresh parsley, and plenty of Eatlean Shaker #ProteinCheese
Bake in the oven for 20 mins, or until you have a nice browned crispy topping
