LOW FAT LASAGNE

A sure fire family favourite, and a great batch recipe to whip up mid-week but how many calories and how much fat is lurking in your homemade lasagne? We’ve created a recipe that not only shaves time off your prep with the easiest white sauce, but also shaves calories off your nutritionals and adds a real protein hit to your meal. A generous portion of this lasagne contains over 70g of protein, but less than 500 kcal. Our Eatlean Spreadable is the new answer to your white or cheese sauce woes, it literally takes less than a minute to whip up the most delicious sauce, and avoid those shop bought jars of sauce packed full of unnecessary calories and sugar.

So what have we switched up?

Eatlean Protein Cheese – 90% less fat and 40% more protein – load that grated cheese on top! Baked in the oven the cheese melts and browns like a dream, so you never have to be sparing with your cheese topping ever again!

Eatlean Spreadable – Our most versatile product, use our Spreadable as the key ingredient to make the perfect white sauce. Here we just loosened the sauce with a little skimmed milk to create a delicious, runny, gooey lasagne sauce ready to pour all over your dish.

Ingredients

500g Mince Beef (5% fat)

1 Onion

1 Pepper

1 Celery Stick

1 Carrot

1 Beef Oxo Cube

1 Tin Chopped Tomatoes

Lasagne Sheets

100 ml Skimmed Milk

Method

1

Add the onion, carrots & celery to frying pan, spray with frylight and cook for 5 minutes.

2

Add the mince meat and the peppers and stir until browned, draining any excess liquid from the meat.

3

Add the oxo cube and stir, and then follow with the tomato puree, tinned tomatoes and 150ml of water, then cook through for 20 minutes.

4

In a saucepan add two tubs of Eatlean Spreadable Protein Cheese, along with 100ml of skimmed milk. Heat until the mixture is fully melted.

5

Take your lasagne dish and layer a thin layer of the mince mixture on the bottom, top with lasagne sheets and then the Spreadable Protein Cheese sauce, just enough to cover the lasagne sheet. Repeat until all of the mince mixture is used, and finish with lasagne and a layer of Spreadable Protein Cheese sauce on top.

6

Add the Grated Protein Cheese to the top and then pop into the oven at 200 degrees for 20-30 minutes until the cheese is browned and bubbling.
