KIMCHI GRILLED CHEESE

Showing our support towards Love Your Gut Week that takes place this week we’ve been cooking up our favourite cheese toastie with a twist – with a little help from our fermented friend Kimchi!

If you haven’t yet tried the flavour combination of melted cheese and Kimchi, then we are about to introduce you to a flavour sensation that elevates both your standard toastie recipe….and your good bacteria levels up a notch or two!

What is Kimchi? A traditional Korean dish, comprising of mixed vegetables, chilli, garlic, salt and fish sauce, which is allowed to pickle and ferment, preserving the vegetables, and creating a really delicious side dish/condiment!

Why should I try it? Apart from being a key ingredient of this great tasting high protein snack, kimchi boasts a whole host of benefits, from being super low in calories yet nutritionally dense, to reducing inflammation and supporting your immune system. The fermentation process increases the levels of gut-friendly bacteria bringing a whole host of health benefits, starting with your digestive system.

So what have we switched up?

Eatlean Spreadable – The most versatile of the Eatlean range, Eatlean Spreadable Cheese can be used in, well, just about anything! From spreading it on a cracker, to making a sumptuous carbonara sauce. How about a cauliflower cheese, or you can even use it in cheesecake if you’re feeling a bit more adventurous!

Eatlean Grated – Containing half the calories of standard cheddar, but with a naturally mature Cheddar flavour, this remarkable cheese is ideal as an ingredient for your low calorie meals, low carb recipes, or high protein diet.
